Jeremy Knights joins Fox Grant

Jeremy Knight

Fox Grant estate agency in The Woodford Valley, just north of Salisbury, has appointed Jeremy Knight who recent moved to the area from Buckinghamshire.

Knight, who has more than 30 years experience, has adopted a senior role at the company, and will help boost the sales team.

The estate agency, established 20 years ago, now operates online after closing its high street office.

The firm’s founder, Susan Grant, said: “Following a phenomenal rise in property prices from 2020, the market cooled in 2023. However, unique or special properties will always attract a premium price and at Fox Grant we have found there are also some very keen and motivated buyers.

“Whilst sale prices have generally fallen back since 2022 remember this is relevant if you are purchasing too. In a flatter market, the key is an attractive guide price and with the right agent this will lead to strong interest and ultimately a good sale price.

“Given that inflation should continue to fall through 2024, interest rates should also reduce which would result in the property market gaining some momentum again next year.”

The CoPSO has announced that longstanding director Paul Albone has resigned

Paul Albone

Paul Albone, who recently left TM Group where he had most recently served as chief operating officer, has stepped down as a director of the Council of Property Search Organisations (CoPSO) after 21 years with the business.

James Sherwood-Rogers, CoPSO chair, commented: “Paul has been an important and influential voice within CoPSO for many years, bringing a wealth of experience and technical expertise to the Council.

“The CoPSO executive has written to Paul to extend its sincere and warm thanks for his invaluable contribution, and to wish him well in whatever the future holds. At a personal level it has been a pleasure working with Paul, and I hope that our paths cross again.”

Albone added: “It has been great working with the CoPSO members and as part of the Executive Committee and watching how the regulated search market has matured and grown over the years. I may well be a customer in the future so will continue to keep a close eye on the work of CoPSO and its members.”

Property manager promoted as Burley Browne team grows

Kate Mills

West Midlands property consultancy Burley Browne has promoted Katie Mills to senior property manager following significant growth of its management portfolio.

The company says Mills has been promoted in recognition of her role in the success of the property management department and its growing team.

Burley Browne managing director, James Merrick, commented: “Katie has worked extremely hard since joining the business and she fully deserves her promotion to senior property manager. This reflects the growth of this important area of the business, particularly since her arrival, and is a reward for her performance, commitment and development this year.

“Over the last three years, and since its inception, our dedicated property management department has grown to managing more than 120 properties totalling over 700,000 sq ft with an annual rent role of approximately £5m and annual service charge collection close to £500,000.”

He added: “Katie and the team have demonstrated hard work and dedication with exceptional service provided to our management clients.”

Mills joined Burley Browne 16 months ago as property manager. She previously worked for Bond Wolfe, in Birmingham, in its property management department.

She said: “I joined Burley Browne in 2022 keen to advance professionally and was given the opportunity to do just that. As a company they invest in and encourage their staff to achieve their aspirations and I am grateful for this progression in my career to continue that development.

“Providing excellent service is the backbone of the business in all areas and, moving into 2024, I have no doubt we will build on the success of this year.”
